Starting with version 1.19, Kindle for PC/Mac uses Amazon's new KFX format which these tools can't handle. Stick with version 1.17 or earlier. If you have already installed or have been updated to 1.19, just go to the preferences and uncheck the auto update checkbox. The download and install 1.17 over the top of the 1.19 installation. You'll also need to delete the KFX folders from your My Kindle Content folder.
