# সামান্তরিক / samantarik

A Monospace Bangla font experiment.
|
|

## Notes

naming pattern: `SamantarikProto`-`<Mode>``<Width>``<Variant>`-`<Style>`
|
|
|
|
eg, **SamantarikProto-G75se-Regular.ttf** -> mode G, width 75, variants s and e, style Regular
|
|
|
|
Each variation applies different cell-counting rules to attempt best display on different terminals or editors.
|
|
|
|
Modes (cells per cluster):
|
|
|
|
**B**: N-cell for N-component clusters, except non-spacing marks and ZWJ/ZWNJ count for 0
|
|
**C**: 1 cell per cluster regardless of component count
|
|
**T**: 1 cell for single letter and 2 cells per cluster
|
|
**U**: 2 cells per glyph regardless of single or conjunct cluster
|
|
**W**: `min(2, B)` cells per cluster
|
|
|
|
**(blank)**: clusters centered in its allocated cell range
|
|
**h**: half-form: conjuncts rendered with half-forms
|
|
**s**: spread: each component takes its own cells
|
|
**f**: fill: each spacing vowel sign gets half a cell and base gets the rest
|
|
**e**: taller (height 115%) for slightly better balance with latin text
|
|
|
|
**C** seems to work best so far with kitty and neovim (vim doesnt like any of these).
|
|
|
|
Editing is often broken. Issues and suggestions always welcome.
